| Biography: | Dr. Chen-Hsiu Laih is currently a distinguished professor of Transport Economics in Department of Merchant Marine, National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU), TAIWAN. In addition, he is currently the editor-in-chief (2020.08-) of Journal of Marine Science & Technology-Taiwan (SCI, EI). He received his B.B.A degree from Department of Shipping & Transportation Management, NTOU (1979-1983), and received his Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Socio-Economic Planning, University of Tsukuba, JAPAN (1987-1994). He was the Chairman of Department of Merchant Marine (2002-2005, 2011-2013), and the Dean of College of Maritime Science & Management (2013-2016) in NTOU. He also worked as the editor-in-chief (2005-2008) of Journal of Marine Science & Technology (EI). His research interests include Transport Economics, Congestion Pricing, Bottleneck Queuing Modeling, Shipping Policy, and Maritime Economics & Management. |
研究方向
運輸經濟研究室之研究方向乃是利用經濟學的理論基礎來分析並解決發生於交通運輸上的種種問題，尤其是針對港埠與海運經濟之擁擠收費與等候定價之相關研究，更是本研究室的研究特色。本研究室以每年均能通過科技部研究計畫之補助，以及獲得SCI/SSCI/TSSCI期刊之論文刊登為首要任務。
Research Direction :
The research direction of the Transportation Economics Laboratory is to use the theoretical basis of economics to analyze and solve various problems in transportation. In particular, the topic of congestion/queuing pricing in the port and shipping economics is the research feature of this laboratory. The primary task of this laboratory is to receive a research project grant by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), Taiwan, and to publish research papers in SCI/SSCI/TSSCI journals every year.
