As a Vietnamese student studying abroad, I often find myself struggling to balance school, work, and personal life. One of the biggest challenges I face is finding time to read books, whether in English or Chinese. Thats why I was very interested in the book 一天10分鐘的精準閱讀力. This book presents a simple yet powerful reading method that doesnt require hours of your time, but still helps you extract the most valuable information from the books you read.
The main concept of the book is easy to understand: rather than reading the entire book from start to finish, you begin by reading the table of contents. This approach allows you to quickly grasp the key ideas of the book without wasting time on unnecessary details. By focusing on the most important sections, you can save time and retain more information.
One important lesson I learned from the book is that reading should not feel like a burden. The author explains that reading should be a tool for growth, not just a passive activity of consuming information. This idea marked a turning point for me. Before reading this book, I often felt frustrated because I couldn’t remember much of what I read, nor could I apply it to my daily life. However, after applying the approach in this book, I realized that when I read with purpose, I can use the knowledge I gain in real-life situations.
The book also emphasizes efficiency and practical application. It doesnt just offer tips on how to read faster; it teaches you how to use the information you read in your daily life. The author encourages readers to engage with the material actively, which helps improve memory retention and the ability to apply knowledge practically. This shift in perspective has truly changed the way I view reading and learning. And one quote that stood out to me from the book is:
閱讀的目的是不是閱讀本身,而是將知識轉化為行動。
This means, The purpose of reading is not reading itself, but turning knowledge into action. This resonates with me deeply when I look back at the things I’ve done before.
Overall, this book is incredibly helpful for anyone looking to make the most of their reading time. It teaches you how to read efficiently and how to apply what you learn to improve your life. If you often forget what you read or struggle with managing large amounts of information, this book offers a great solution. It serves as a reminder that even dedicating just 10 minutes a day can lead to significant personal growth and transformation. So, I highly recommend it to you if you dont have time to read books every day.
